Acrylic Properties

Physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical properties of acrylic

Acrylic is a transparent plastic material with outstanding strength, stiffness, and optical clarity. Acrylic sheet exhibits glass-like qualities such as clarity, brilliance, and transparency, but is half the weight and many times more impact resistant than glass. It is strong, stiff, has good dimensional stability, and is easy to fabricate, machine, and thermoform. Available in a wide range of colors acrylic plastics are used for retail store fixtures, displays, signs, and architectural glazing applications. Acrylic offers outstanding versatility, durability, and aesthetic qualities.

In addition to general purpose clear acrylic, other material options are available including light diffusing, antimicrobial, and bullet resistant grades. Please ask your Curbell Plastics representative for more information about a specific grade.
