About High Impact Polystyrene
High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a low cost, tough plastic that is easy to thermoform and fabricate. HIPS plastic material is often used for countertop point of purchase displays and indoor signs where ease of fabrication is essential.
Length, width, thickness, and diameter tolerances vary by size, by manufacturer, brand, and grade. Custom sizes available upon request.
High Impact Polystyrene Properties and Material Options
HIPS Assembly– High impact polystyrene can be assembled with mechanical fasteners, solvents, or adhesives.
Good Printable Substrate– High impact polystyrene can be decorated using a variety of printing methods including screen printing, offset lithography, and flexography.
FDA Compliant Material– HIPS sheet is available in FDA compliant grades.
Orfitrans® Stiff High Impact Poly Sheet for O&P– is a HIPS material used for the production of check sockets and flexible sockets. It has good impact resistance, fatigue resistance, and moderate stiffness.
