PET Properties

Physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical properties of PET

PET (polyethylene terephthalate, semicrystalline) is a strong and stiff engineering plastic with excellent chemical resistance, and bearing and wear properties. It exhibits low thermal expansion, low moisture absorption, and excellent wear characteristics, even in wet environments. PET has excellent machining characteristics and is widely used for food processing machinery components, valve components, filler pistons, bearings and bushings, and wheels and rollers.

PET is available in an enhanced wear, FDA compliant grade. Please ask your Curbell Plastics representative for more specific information.
