William (BJ) Shaw is an Outside Sales Representative for Curbell Plastics in Syracuse, where he is committed to helping businesses find the right plastic solutions to improve performance and efficiency. Detail-oriented and driven, BJ excels at understanding his customers’ needs and delivering tailored solutions. If he doesn’t have an answer right away, he is committed in finding one—because his customers’ success is his priority.

A Partner in Your Success

Before joining Curbell, BJ spent a decade as a New York State Corrections Officer, an experience that strengthened his resilience, patience, and ability to navigate challenges. Now, he applies those skills to solving complex material challenges for his customers. Though new to the plastics industry, BJ embraces every opportunity to expand his expertise, supported by his Syracuse team, his father’s mentorship with over 25 years in the plastics industry, and his manager, Mike Cranston. His commitment to learning ensures customers receive knowledgeable, responsive service.

BJ lives by Mark Twain’s words: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” This mindset drives his passion for continuous learning, meaningful connections, and making a positive impact in both his personal and professional life.

Originally from the Finger Lakes region of Central New York, BJ has always appreciated the outdoors. Whether boating or scuba diving in the area’s beautiful lakes, he enjoys staying active and embracing new adventures.

Outside of work, he can be found working out, golfing, or spending time with friends, family, and his Chocolate Lab, Maverick. A self-proclaimed “beach bum,” BJ loves traveling—especially when there’s sunshine and a beach involved. He is also a fan of the New York Rangers, New York Giants, and Notre Dame Football (though he still roots for Syracuse!).
