Heat sealable plastic films and materials
Heat sealable plastic films and materials are used in packaging, fluid handling, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications where a plastic surface must bond, seal, release, or protect during a heat sealing process. Material selection depends on sealing temperature, chemical exposure, release requirements, barrier needs, and contact with sealing jaws or heated tooling.
PFA, FEP, and PCTFE films may be considered where chemical resistance, barrier performance, or low surface energy are required. PTFE tapes are often used on heat sealing jaws and heated surfaces to provide release, reduce sticking, and help protect equipment during sealing operations.
