CE Canvas Phenolic

Electrical grade phenolic sheet material with cotton canvas reinforcement

About CE Canvas Phenolic

stacked sheets of CE Canvas Phenolic

CE canvas phenolic sheet is an electrical grade high strength composite that consists of phenolic resin impregnated into layers of woven cotton canvas fabric. CE phenolic is strong and stiff and it has excellent creep resistance and outstanding dimensional stability. It is used for a wide variety of industrial applications including insulators for electromechanical devices, jigs, fixtures, and gears. CE canvas phenolic can be machined, drilled, punched, sanded, tapped, turned, milled, sheared and cut. Cotton is used in applications where mechanical strength and machinability is important.

Tech Tip – Cotton canvas is a relatively coarse woven fabric and because of this, CE phenolic sheet is most often used for parts that lack small machined features. Linen phenolic sheet is more expensive than canvas phenolic but it is made using a finer woven cloth. This allows linen phenolic to be used for machined parts that have small geometric features.

Length, width, thickness, and diameter tolerances vary by size, by manufacturer, brand, and grade. Custom sizes and colors available upon request.
