This DuPont™ Vespel® SCP-5009 Polyimide Rod is a graphite-filled bearing and wear grade for high-wear and friction applications under high operating pressure and elevated temperatures. It has enhanced mechanical properties and thermal stability.

Size: 1.5 in diameter x 9 in length

Features:
  • Bearing and Wear Grade: Graphite filled for high-wear and friction applications.
  • Thermal and Pressure Resistance: Has resistance to temperatures above 300°C and pressures above 20,000 psi.
  • Mechanical Properties: Has high compressive strength and low creep under extreme conditions.
  • Machinability: Is easy to machine to near-metal tolerances.

Typical Applications: Commonly used for bearing, wear, friction, and sealing components operating under high pressure and elevated temperatures.

DuPont Vespel® Polyimide is an extremely high temperature, creep resistant plastic material that is often used in high heat environments where thermoplastic materials lose their mechanical properties.
