KyronTEX® C42/R/500 PPS
Carbon fiber reinforced PPS composite
About KyronTEX® C42/R/500 PPS
KyronTEX® C42/R/500 PPS is a thermoplastic composite that consists of a PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) resin matrix reinforced with random non-woven carbon fiber mat. This material has 3 times the strength and twice the modulus of traditional GRP (glass reinforced polyester) sheet and it has 1/5th the weight of steel. This composite is able to operate at elevated temperature and has outstanding resistance to a wide range of industrial chemicals.
Tech Tip– KyronTEX® C42/R/500 PPS can be machined into parts that require tight tolerances with aesthetic surfaces. However, like most composite materials, care should be taken when selecting tooling and machining speeds and feed rates. Curbell Plastics can provide tips about fabricating KyronTEX® C42/R/500 PPS and other thermoplastic composites.
Length, width, thickness, and diameter tolerances vary by size, by manufacturer, brand, and grade. Custom sizes available upon request.
