Curbell Plastics Builds on Aerospace Legacy with AS9100 Certification

Orchard Park, N.Y., July 29, 2025 – Curbell Plastics, Inc., a leading supplier of high-performance plastics and fabricated components, is proud to announce that its Arlington, Texas, facility is now certified to AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015. This internationally recognized quality standard supports the stringent requirements of the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries.

Jonah Collins, one of our skilled machinists in Arlington, programs a CNC mill with raw UHMW blocks for fabrication.

This milestone reinforces Curbell’s long-standing commitment to the aerospace sector—a relationship that began when the company was founded in 1942. In its earliest days, Curbell machined plastic aircraft parts to support the U.S. effort during World War II. The company name itself was inspired by its two largest customers at the time—Curtiss-Wright and Bell Aerospace.

“Curbell’s history is deeply rooted in aerospace innovation,” said Gerry Helbig, President of Curbell Plastics. “Our founders built this company to serve the needs of aircraft manufacturers, and that legacy continues to guide us today. With AS9100 certification in Arlington, we’re not just honoring that past—we’re equipping our team to meet the exacting standards our aerospace and defense customers demand.”

Curbell’s Arlington facility is a premier machining and fabrication center for high-performance materials such as nylon, PEEK, Ultem®, PTFE, and Torlon® PAI. The site features advanced CNC routing, milling, and turning to produce tight-tolerance parts used in critical applications.

“AS9100 certification enables us to serve one of the most highly regulated industries with confidence,” said Scott Reed, Senior Business Development Manager for Aerospace at Curbell. “It assures our customers that we provide traceable, defect-free components backed by a culture of continuous improvement.”
