An architect who designs detention centers wanted to find ceiling light diffusers for a new project. She was looking for a plastic sheet material with high light transmission and outstanding resistance to vandalism.
Light Diffusing Vandalism-Resistant Plastic Sheet
For previous detention facilities, she had specified light diffusers made from acrylic sheet, but prison authorities reported that these were quickly damaged by inmates. The architect worked with Curbell Plastics’ technical team to identify a tough, vandalism-resistant plastic sheet material with superb optical properties.
The general contractor for the project reported that since the material is extremely lightweight, it was easy to install in the prison.
