Orchard Park, N.Y., December 5, 2023

Curbell Plastics, Inc., one of the nation’s top suppliers of plastic sheet, rod, tube, tapes, and fabricated parts, is pleased to announce that Peter DelGado, Senior Director of Sales and Customer Service, was elected by IAPD - The Performance Plastics Association Board of Directors to serve as their President for a one-year term from 2023-2024 that officially began at the conclusion of the association’s annual convention in San Diego, CA.

DelGado, with Curbell Plastics for 37 years, has been actively involved with the IAPD for most of that time. He served on the board of directors, was chair of the membership committee, and worked on numerous committees, task forces, and working groups. Building strong relationships within the organization and industry over the years has prepared him for this new role as president.

“I’ve been privileged to work with so many association members over the years, both in business and with IAPD. I’ve learned a lot from so many individuals and have developed some great friendships, and I want to thank them for their support” said DelGado.

When addressing association members at the most recent convention DelGado said “IAPD, like the performance plastics industry, is constantly changing, and that is a good thing. We need to change what we’re doing and focus our efforts on things that are most important to our member companies, then engage in the key initiatives that will advance our industry and drive member value. Let’s disrupt the status quo.”

His presidency will begin leading the association by taking a fresh look at strategic issues, focusing on three key areas to support member companies including:

  • Workforce development – guidance in attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent
  • Sustainability – moving beyond the recycling conversation to a broader understanding of sustainability
  • IAPD legislative agenda in Washington, D.C. – ensuring the performance plastics industry has a voice
