PTFE Tapes

PTFE tapes are widely used for:

  • High temperature release surfaces
  • Heat sealing
  • Dryer can covering
  • Roller wrap tape in production

Performance characteristics:

  • Excellent electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties
  • Nonstick surface—low coefficient of friction makes it very slick
  • Extremely durable and abrasion resistant
  • High dielectric and tensile strength
  • High temperature range (-100°F - 500°F)
  • Adhesive backing makes it easy to apply
  • Removes cleanly/leaves no adhesive residue

Common Brands:

  • Saint Gobain

Glass fabric tapes for heat sealing and roller wrapping—good electrical, mechanical, chemical properties

PTFE glass fabric tapes are used for heat sealing and roller wrap applications. Along with good heat resistance, they also possess excellent electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties. PTFE tapes are available with a silicone adhesive backing. Acrylic adhesive backing is available upon request.

Heat sealing– PTFE tapes serve as durable non-stick coverings in heat sealing applications. Packaging materials don't stick to surfaces covered with PTFE tape. The tapes resist high temperatures, and provide a satisfactory rate of heat transfer from the sealing unit to the sealing area on the package.

Roller wrapping– PTFE tapes are used as a non-stick covering to prevent a build-up of inks, resins, and other chemicals on various industrial rollers. The tape also serves as a means to preserve the roller surface itself from damage caused by the exposure to a vast array of potentially abusive materials.
