PTFE Tapes
Glass fabric tapes for heat sealing and roller wrapping—good mechanical and chemical properties
PTFE glass fabric tapes are used for heat sealing, lining, and roller wrap applications to provide superior non-stick surfaces. Along with good heat resistance, they also possess excellent mechanical and chemical properties. PTFE tapes are FDA compliant and available with a silicone adhesive backing. Acrylic adhesive backing is available upon request.
Heat sealing– PTFE tapes serve as durable non-stick coverings in heat sealing applications. Packaging materials don't stick to surfaces covered with PTFE tape allowing equipment to work smoothly and more efficiently. The tapes resist high temperatures, and provide a satisfactory rate of heat transfer from the sealing unit to the sealing area on the package.
Roller wrapping– PTFE tapes are used as a non-stick covering to prevent a build-up of inks, resins, and other chemicals on various industrial rollers. The tape also serves as a means to preserve the roller surface itself from damage caused by the exposure to a vast array of potentially abusive materials.

PTFE Tape Options
CHR® SG25-03/SG25-06 (natural brown)- Is a PTFE coated glass cloth tape with a high temperature, pressure sensitive silicone adhesive. SG25 can perform in continuous temperatures up to 260°C (500°F), is dimensionally stable and resistant to tears, punctures, abrasion and wear, and will not “cold flow” under heavy loads. It is often used as a release surface on heat sealers, blister formation and form-fill-seal equipment. SG25 is ideal for the lining of guide rails, chutes and slides, and for vinyl window applications.
CHR® PREMIUM SG05-06 (dark brown)- Is a premium grade PTFE coated glass cloth tape with a high temperature, pressure sensitive silicone adhesive and may be the answer when a longer service life is required. SG05 can perform in continuous temperatures up to 260°C (500°F), is dimensionally stable and resistant to tears, punctures, abrasion and wear, and will not “cold flow” under heavy loads. It is often used as a release surface on heat sealers, blister formation and form-fill-seal equipment. SG05 is ideal for the lining of guide rails, chutes and slides, and for vinyl window applications.
CHR® CHEMLAM® COPPER SGC6-06 (copper)- Is a laminate construction copper colored fiberglass fabric coated with a high temperature, pressure sensitive silicone adhesive. The laminate construction has Chemlam® PTFE over the entire surface of the cloth, providing exceptional durability and longevity. The combination of uniform and pin-hole free film enables SGC6 to outperform thicker PTFE-coated fiberglass tapes. It is dimensionally stable and resistant to tears, punctures, abrasion and wear, and is often used by the packaging industry as a release surface on heat sealers, blister formation and form-fill equipment where heavy production demands a product with more release surface material. The high temperature and non-stick properties allow it to perform in severe industrial environments, platen covers, dry can covers and the composite aircraft industry.
