Plating Tanks Show Chemical Degradation and Environmental Stress Cracking

Chemically compatible fluoropolymer sheet identified that is suitable for thermoplastic welding and resists chemicals at high temperatures

Plating Tank Manufactuer Needs Plastics that Resists Corrosive Chemicals at Elevated Temperatures (Case Study at Curbell Plastics)A manufacturer of plating tanks was trying to identify a plastic sheet material that would be compatible with some extremely corrosive chemicals at elevated temperatures.

They had tried a number of different polymers, each of which quickly showed degradation and environmental stress cracking.

The tank designer contacted Curbell’s technical team to discuss the application. They worked together to identify a fluoropolymer sheet material that performed well with the chemicals and was easy to fabricate using thermoplastic welding equipment.
