A high-end clothing retailer was designing oval display tables to promote new products in their stores. They wanted the tables to have a sleek, modern look and they did not want the dark seams associated with high pressure laminates. They were also concerned that high pressure laminates might crack or chip during use, which would detract from the appearance of the stores.
Clothing retailer selects KYDEX® XD thermoplastic sheet products for aesthetics and durability
The retailer chose a 0.030” thick KYDEX® XD 3D laminate in Goal Post White color for the bases of the tables and 0.036” thick KYDEX® XD WG sheet with a Fusion X woodgrain pattern for the tops. The KYDEX® XD 3D laminate was bonded to an MDF substrate. KYDEX® XD 3D laminate has color throughout the thickness of the sheet, which makes seams nearly invisible. The material is also extremely tough and ductile so it resists chipping and cracking from in-store traffic. KYDEX® XD 3D laminate has outstanding abrasion resistance, which results in long life for the top surfaces of retail fixtures.
KYDEX® XD 3D laminate is easy to cut, router and glue to curved surfaces, which allowed the fixtures to be easily fabricated using standard woodworking tools.
