Orchard Park, N.Y., June 16, 2020 – Curbell Plastics, Inc., one of the nation’s top suppliers of plastic sheet, rod, tube, tapes, and fabricated parts, announced the recent hiring of Ben Rushing, who has returned to Curbell Plastics as the Regional Sales Manager for Colorado, Arizona, and Utah.

Rushing first joined Curbell Plastics, Inc. in 2007 after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University. He was an Outside Sales Representative for the Denver location, providing support and expertise to packaging and conveying manufacturers, sign manufacturers specializing in channel letters, and aerospace firms. In 2011 he pursued medical sales at a prominent medical device company and was with them during their meteoric rise in the global economy. When the Curbell Plastics Regional Sales Manager role for the West became available in 2020, Rushing was warmly welcomed back to the Denver location.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to re-join Curbell as a Regional Sales Manager,” Rushing said, “the culture at Curbell is fantastic, which is why you see many employees with a tenure of 20-plus years. My goal is to collaborate efficiently with my fellow colleagues in an effort to promote Curbell’s brand awareness, product variety and customer service throughout the region.”

Rushing’s combined experience of medical devices and plastics expertise provides him a wealth of material knowledge to offer customers throughout his region. He enjoys working closely with engineers to understand an application’s environment, the demands required of the material, and offering polymer suggestions that can tolerate those parameters to deliver the best performance for the application.

During his time away, Rushing missed the range of customer challenges he was involved in at Curbell Plastics. “The variety of different industries we touch is very unique,” he said, “for example, in the span of one week, you may be recommending plastic sheet to a sign manufacturer on Monday, assisting an engineer to specify a wear-resistant material for automation equipment on Tuesday, identifying a high-performance plastic that has low outgassing properties for a space application on Wednesday, helping an engine builder select a product that maintains integrity when exposed to extreme heat on Thursday and selling fabricated aircraft parts on Friday. There aren’t many sales roles that have this type of incredible diversity, which makes lacing up your work boots exciting.”
