Orchard Park, N.Y., December 1, 2020 – Curbell Plastics, Inc., one of the nation’s top suppliers of plastic sheet, rod, tube, tapes, and fabricated parts, has once again been recognized by industry peers as leading educators and stewards of sustainable practices. This year, in lieu of an in-person annual convention and showcase, the International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD) streamed a special presentation, Celebrating Members: Finding the Good in 2020. Curbell’s Associate Director of Training & Development, Jinny Kcehowski, was awarded the IAPD 2020 Pacesetter Award, and Curbell Plastics, Inc. took home two Gold Level awards as a company.
Setting the Pace
In addition to her Curbell Leadership position, Jinny Kcehowski is also Chair of the Women in Plastics Committee. Women in Plastics is an IAPD initiative committed to supporting women through mentorship, education, and personal and professional development to attract, retain, and advance women within the performance plastics industry. Each year the Pacesetter Award recognizes a single IAPD volunteer leader who set the pace for the association over the past year. Recipients can be self-nominated or nominated by others, and the IAPD Executive Committee makes the final selection.
“Jinny was nominated by several people familiar with her phenomenal work with the IAPD Women in Plastics initiative,” said IAPD CEO Susan Avery, CAE, “She successfully pivoted from the popular regional in-person events to virtual events this year, reaching an even larger audience.”
Committed to Education
For the fifth consecutive year, Curbell Plastics received the 2020 Gold Level Education Circle of Champions award. This award celebrates companies that are committed to plastics education excellence and continued workforce training. This award was for Curbell’s use of IAPD training resources as well as extensive and continually evolving internal training programs, which reflect the company’s core values and its emphasis on developing the plastics leaders of tomorrow.
For the sixth consecutive year, Curbell Plastics was awarded the Gold Level Environmental Excellence Award. This award celebrates the environmentally responsible practices of IAPD member companies. It recognizes Curbell’s dedication to sustainable business practices via strategies such as recycling, conservation, community outreach, employee engagement, and more.
Curbell is honored and grateful to have received these awards as a company, and is excited to celebrate Jinny Kcehowski’s recognition for all her hard work and efforts. Curbell Plastics looks forward to continuing their work as performance plastics industry leaders and will continue to strive for professional excellence for a better tomorrow.
