Orchard Park, NY, October 19, 2016 – Orchard Park-based Curbell Plastics, Inc., one of the nation’s premier suppliers of plastic sheet, rod, tube, film, adhesives, sealants, and prototyping materials, was recognized recently by the plastics industry organization, the International Association of Plastics Distributors (IAPD), for excellence in education and environmental responsibility. Keith Hechtel, Senior Director of Business Development for Curbell Plastics, also received the IAPD’s prestigious President’s Award.

IAPD honored Curbell Plastics with a Gold Education Circle of Champions award which acknowledges innovative and exemplary educational initiatives. Education is a core value of Curbell Plastics and the company works to ensure that its employees have opportunities to further their knowledge in order to better serve customers.

Curbell Plastics also received a Gold Environmental Excellence Award recognizing innovative or exemplary environmental responsibility by an IAPD member company. Curbell Plastics has become an environmental leader in the plastics industry nationally and regionally where they have locations including its Orchard Park, N.Y. headquarters, by developing programs and initiatives to reduce waste, increase recycling and reuse of materials, and developing strategies for greater energy efficiency.

Keith Hechtel was honored individually with the President’s Award for “going above and beyond the call of duty on behalf of the association.” Keith, an active member of IAPD, has presented on relevant topics and participated in advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry in Washington, D.C.

The honors were awarded at the IAPD’s 60th Annual Convention held in Phoenix, Arizona. Representatives from Curbell Plastics senior management team attended the event and accepted the awards on behalf of the company.
