Matthew Fields, Inside Sales Representative at Curbell Plastics’ Virginia location, helps customers with specialized material requirements obtain the performance plastics they need for various applications.
“I enjoy interacting with customers to learn what they do, and then help them achieve maximum efficiency,” Matt says. From automation and factory maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) needs to food processing, machine shops, and aerospace applications, he works to understand each customer’s unique challenges. Armed with that insight, Matt helps customers determine material options for a particular application, advises on material selection when parts don’t live up to their expectations, and leverages his strong relationships with plastic suppliers and fabricators to expedite orders.
Combined with his extensive plastic properties knowledge and his passion for providing stellar service, this makes Matt an asset for Curbell customers as they seek to become more competitive in their markets.
Before joining Curbell, Matt worked with an internship company that recruited select college students and taught them how to market, sell, hire, and manage their own employees for their own business. This experience fueled Matt’s appreciation for the challenges businesses and entrepreneurs face, and it still inspires him to find innovative solutions to customers’ inventory, logistics, and supply chain issues.
In his free time, Matt really enjoys the outdoors. He often it camping, fishing, hiking, and traveling.

In one example, Matt assisted a metal fabricator with material selection to win a highly competitive job. The customer was not knowledgeable about the plastic required for the application. Plus, lead times were short and price inflexible. However, by aligning efforts, Curbell and the customer successfully secured the job and managed the project through to completion to ensure full compliance and profitability.
