Dennis Norwood, Business Manager of the Curbell Plastics location in Seattle, leads the performance plastics sales and service teams that serve engineers, market-leading companies, and entrepreneurs across the Northwest and into Canada.
Dennis helps companies in a broad range of industries spanning air, land, and sea to realize cost savings and improve their processes through Curbell’s product offerings and value-added services. He works daily with globally recognized manufacturers of aircraft and aerospace components, agricultural harvesting machinery, and security glass to find cost-effective solutions to their needs for raw materials as well as semi-finished and finished fabricated parts. He also has extensive experience with heavy construction lift equipment such as booms and scissor lifts, dock fendering, and marina construction and renovation projects.
Before joining Curbell Plastics in 2013, Dennis spent 12 years working in general line industrial distribution with one of North America’s leading distributors of metalworking and MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) products and services. This experience set Dennis up with a solid foundation to understand the unique needs and supply chain challenges faced by Curbell customers across all market segments.
In his free time, Dennis enjoys spending time with his family and being active in community theater. He has performed in and directed several productions. He is active in his local church and supports several ministries that serve communities in the U.S. and around the world.
A Partner in Your Success
When asked about what drives his work and his approach to customer service, Dennis calls up a quote from Colin Powell: “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”
Dennis knows from experience that the way to give customers the greatest value is to develop long-term business relationships grounded in trust. For example, he has worked extensively with one of the world’s top aerospace companies to provide it with better, more cost-effective solutions for its plastic sourcing and fabrication needs. This required him to dig deep, analyze the company’s processes and material choices, and deeply understand its business needs and objectives. The result: Dennis is proud to note he has helped the company generate over $800,000 in cost savings over the past three years.
