Meet Dennis

Dennis Freeman, Senior Regional Director of Curbell Plastics, has over 30 years’ experience in the performance plastics industry. In fact, Dennis has spent the majority of his professional career as a member of the Curbell Plastics team. Jack of all trades, he can easily immerse himself in the customer facing front-end of business, or the operations, material management, and logistics back-end of plastics distribution.

Branch, Region and Operational Leadership

Not a guy that backs away from a challenge, Dennis opened the Curbell Cleveland location in 1988. He learned the mechanics of managing a branch as well as the active pace and diversity plastics distribution offers a young professional. But, it’s the strong foundation he establishes over the next several years as Business Manger that makes Cleveland the powerhouse it is today in the Ohio/Indiana market. 

From there, he was promoted to Regional Director. Soon after, operations came calling and Dennis moved into the role of Director of Operations. Utilizing his customer experiences and comfortable in business processes and practices, he became a veteran in all aspects of supply chain operations, materials and inventory management, negotiation, purchasing, planning, logistics, business systems and processes, and operational efficiencies.

With extensive leadership experience and a highly successful track record, it’s no surprise that the branches under Dennis Freeman’s direction thrive. But for Dennis, it’s all about the customer.

Through the years, Dennis has visited with just about every branch Curbell has a location—and has exposure to nearly every market and material, common and sometimes uncommon, to the industry. You see, Dennis is a big problem solver and comfortable tackling any challenge. He can analyze a situation and advise on a solution. Plus, he loves to find and match capabilities with customer needs. 

Riding along with new sales people – Dennis is always the mentor and coach. He mentors many young, eager newcomers to the plastics industry. Also, he savors being out in the field and in front of customers. Nothing replaces sitting across from a customer and listening to their needs. It’s always a productive conversation and an essential part of conducting business.

What has changed for Dennis is speed and technology. When he began his career in 1980, a landline phone, USPS mail, and the yellow pages supported communications. But today, electronics and all the digital world has to offer facilitates business with less people doing more work efficiently.

An entrepreneur at heart, he loves beginning any venture with a clean slate-- molding its growth while riding the peaks and valleys of business life. According to Dennis, “go the extra mile because there's less traffic on that road!” People around you will remember and respect you for the extra effort. 

At the end of the day, Dennis enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is an avid Cleveland sports fan – Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers.
