Overview
DuPont™ Vespel® SCP-5000 polyimide was developed for demanding applications that require:
- Toughness
- Thermal stability
- Dimensional stability
- Chemical resistance
- Stable dielectric performance across a broad temperature range
Vespel® SCP-5000 is a good candidate for applications such as:
- CMP retaining rings
- Test sockets
- Substrate lift pins
- Applications that require high temperature and/or high wear resistance
with low outgassing
Compared to SP-1, Vespel® SCP-5000 offers:
- Higher modulus and surface hardness
- Improved dimensional stability
- Improved chemical resistance

SCP-5000 parts can:
- Save weight
- Reduce actuation force required
- Cut fabrication costs in replacing metal-to-metal seals
Vespel® SCP-5000 parts can also extend part life in replacing plastics with lower thermal capabilities.
