Overview DuPont™ Vespel® SCP-5000 polyimide was developed for demanding applications that require:

  • Toughness
  • Thermal stability
  • Dimensional stability
  • Chemical resistance
  • Stable dielectric performance across a broad temperature range

Vespel® SCP-5000 is a good candidate for applications such as:

  • CMP retaining rings
  • Test sockets
  • Substrate lift pins
  • Applications that require high temperature and/or high wear resistance
    with low outgassing

Compared to SP-1, Vespel® SCP-5000 offers:


  • Higher modulus and surface hardness
  • Improved dimensional stability
  • Improved chemical resistance

  • Save weight
  • Reduce actuation force required
  • Cut fabrication costs in replacing metal-to-metal seals

Vespel® SCP-5000 parts can also extend part life in replacing plastics with lower thermal capabilities.
