Curbell, Inc. Environmental Sustainability

"Meeting the needs of today while protecting our natural capital
for long-term prosperity"

For many, the term environmental sustainability means "going green" or "recycling", something they need not concern themselves with during difficult economic times. This could not be farther from the truth. Sustainability, if applied correctly, not only conserves natural resources, but will reduce waste, consumption, and operating costs.

Today we are proud to be distributing press releases talking about Curbell's environmental sustainability efforts. Over the past three years the EH&S (Environmental, Health and Safety) department has been working closely with our three companies, Curbell, Inc., Curbell Plastics, Inc., and Curbell Electronics, Inc.
on various sustainability projects. These efforts include recycling of paper, e-waste, cardboard, plastic, and an array of items that were previously sent to landfill.
In addition they have completed projects that have reduced our consumption of energy and improved our carbon footprint, all of which have reduced our operating costs and added dollars to the bottom line.

Highlighting the work is the fact that we have achieved "Zero Landfill" status at our two Orchard Park, NY facilities. This feat, believed to be unique in our industries, wasn't achieved simply through incinerating waste; it was done by reducing waste, recycling, and waste-to-energy conversion.

By embracing environmental sustainability principals such as reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, we not only reduce our costs and support our tradition of leadership in our industries, but we improve the communities in which we live and do business.

You will be hearing the term sustainability more and more in the future as the business world recognizes that less waste and lower consumption means improved competitiveness, increased profits, and enduring prosperity. As we move forward in our environmental sustainability efforts I ask that you support and participate wherever you can, and always remember the 3R's: reduce, reuse, and recycle.
